‘ A Alcedonia Maris’ (A Tranquil Sea) is a well equipped, comfortable & spacious attractively decorated detached private home located in the quaint sleepy Hamlet of Preston. Preston itself is conveniently located 15 minutes drive from the centre of Hull in the East Hull villages, 1 mile before reaching the Market town of Hedon the combination of the two is like a mix between something from Dickens and Dads Army. Preston even has a ‘Jones the Butcher’.
Immediate amenities for Preston include 2 Take Aways, 1 Londis general store c/w Sub Post Office, a Petrol Station and Garage, 1 Butcher and 2 Hairdressers and 3 Pubs and a fitness suite complete with a 25m swimming pool. There is also a Garden Centre complete with country kitchen farm shop. Close by are a larger Fitness Centre, an Asda Supermarket and all the usual retailers, facilities and amenities that you would find in small Market Town.
The accommodation of ‘A Alcedonia Maris’ comprises of a comfortable well equipped double room in this large spacious home. The guest shall have the full use and run of the home whilst the owner is in residence with unlimited access and use off all the facilities. All rooms in the home are spacious and attractively decorated and the home is well maintained. The guest will have virtually exclusive use of the main bathroom which is located right next to their bedroom as the owner has their own en-suite facilities. The main bathroom is bright airy and beautifully fitted out c/w a large comfortable corner spa bath and the perfect dressing mirror.
The down stairs of the home comprises of a large spacious entrance, elegant and very comfortable living room c/w 42” LED LCD TV and Sky, there is a library covering a diverse range of subjects and literature and this is where there is also a full computer suite c/w wireless broadband internet connection. There is a lovely dinning room, perfect for entertaining guests. Also downstairs there is a cloakroom, a large, very well equipped breakfast kitchen, a utility room c/w washing machine and tumble drier.
At the back of the house is a well maintained and tranquil private garden complete with pond, small trees and a furnished patio to include a swinging arbour. The owner has also converted the garage where you have the use (if you desire) of a Reebok TR2 professional running machine, a Reebok cross trainer, an Abs- Trainer and yoga mat, there is also a Hi-Fi, DVD/Video player and TV to keep you entertained whilst you train.
There is private parking for two cars with passive security lighting. The house rules for ‘A Alcedonia Maris’ are few and are non invasive, basically in the main there is to be no smoking in the home however; smokers may smoke outside in the garden as long as they empty and clean the ashtray provided. Also there are to be no shoes worn in the house, upon entry, shoes are to be removed in the entrance vestibule as the house is fitted throughout with light coloured beige carpets and light ash laminate flooring. Oh, and if you make yourself a cup of tea, you have to make me one also, because I would for you.
The guest shall be issued with front door keys and shall have unrestricted access and are welcome if they desire to entertain guest of their own within reason but please remember that this is someone else’s home. The owner appreciates the difficulties and sacrifices that people endure when they work away from home and as such would like to try to provide as far as is reasonably practical a home from home environment for the guests where they can relax in some comfort.
